Most people fold when the odds are stacked.
I built a life by doing the opposite — and
now I help others do the same.

I’m Meech  —  former pro athlete turned high-performance coach,
speaker, and founder of Earned Excellence.

I help high-performers unlock their edge, lock in their focus, and
successfully live out the excellence they know they’re capable of — not
just talk about it.

But before I taught this, I had to live it.

My Story

Most pros were stars from day one. I wasn’t.
I only played one year in middle school — 8th grade. I didn’t make the team in 6th or 7th.
I only played one year in high school — 12th grade. I didn’t make JV in 9th or 10th, and I
sat out 11th to train.

Even my senior year — when I finally made varsity — I started the season strong — but
when the pressure hit, my confidence cracked. Eventually I lost my starting spot.
Barely played. No offers. No scholarships. No buzz.

Most people would’ve called it a wrap. But I didn’t.

I knew I hadn’t shown the world what I was really made of yet.
That summer, I played AAU and had a breakout season.
We won the state championship. I was named team MVP.
It was the first time I truly performed under pressure consistently — and
everything changed.
I went off to college at a Division 1 school — uninvited, unrecruited — with one
mission: walk on and earn a spot on the team.

It took two years of relentless training, building relationships, showing face, and
betting on myself. Then the call came.

I had made the team.

I became an NCAA Division 1 student-athlete — the first in my family, and the first from
my high school at the time.

Still, I wanted more.

In my senior year exit interview, I told my coach, “I’m going to play professionally.”
He wasn’t convinced. He couldn’t picture it. I didn’t blame him.
But that’s because he didn’t know what I’d already overcome. He didn’t know what I was
willing to do. He didn’t know who I was becoming. He didn’t know the fire I had inside.

After graduating, I went on to grad school and trained while getting my MBA.

Graduated. Still unsigned. Still pushing forward.

Then I took a leap of faith and flew to Australia — no contract, no guarantees — just a
few tryouts lined up and a vision I refused to let go of.

Weeks went by. Doors closed. Rejection stacked. But I stayed locked in.

Eventually, one team saw me.

They signed me.

And just like that, I became a pro.

Not because the path was easy. Not because it made sense.
But because I never stopped believing — and never stopped doing the work.

From Overlooked to Overseas.

That journey didn’t just change me. It built me.
The same mindset that carried me from overlooked to overseas is the mindset I now
help others master. Today, I work with high-performers who are done playing small —
people who know they’re built for more, even if they can’t quite explain what’s been
holding them back.
Everything I teach is built on the philosophy that excellence is
earned, never given.
That’s why I created the EARN Methodology
— a system built around:
  • Excellence: Operating at a high standard regardless of outcome
  • Accountability: Owning your path
  • Relentless Action: Executing daily, without excuses
  • Non-Negotiables: Building a life driven by principle, not feelings
This system has helped founders, athletes, leaders, and creatives become the version of themselves they always knew they could be — but couldn’t access consistently.

Formal Bio

Meech Robinson (Meech) smiling in a dark blazer and black shirt standing against a plain white background.
Meech Robinson is a former professional athlete turned high-performance coach, AI
strategist, speaker, and founder of Earned Excellence — a coaching and consulting firm
helping ambitious individuals and organizations master the mindset, focus, discipline, and tools required to become undeniable in every area of life.

Before coaching high performers, Meech was one. His journey began with basketball — not as a standout, but as the underdog. He only played one year in both middle and high school, had no scholarship offers, and was overlooked at every level. But through relentless belief and commitment, he eventually walked on to an NCAA Division I program and earned his spot.

After college, Meech entered the corporate world — and brought that same drive with him. He rose from sales rep to sales manager in just three months, earning President’s Club honors as one of the top 25 reps out of 500+ nationwide. As a manager, he led his team to become the #1 sales office in the region and one of the top five offices in the country.

Still, the dream of going pro never left him.

While earning his MBA, Meech continued training. After graduating with his graduate degree, he flew to Australia — with no contract, no guarantees — and after weeks of grinding through tryouts, he was signed to a professional team. He officially became a pro athlete.

Following his final overseas season, Meech was signed by a modeling agency and relocated to New York City, where he booked national commercials, acted in award-winning short films, and launched a sustainable fashion brand to challenge fast fashion norms.

But behind every career pivot and performance breakthrough was a deeper obsession: human behavior.

Since completing grad school, Meech has spent years studying psychology, performance science, and behavior change — learning how mindset, identity, and belief systems shape outcomes. His coaching is rooted in personal transformation, but backed by hundreds of hours of research, book study, and intentional practice across multiple disciplines. That ongoing education is what allows him to help others not just work harder — but think, believe, and perform differently.
